Yajuj and Majuj: Three Types You Didn’t Know Exist

By: Admin – D4E News | Last Updated: August 2025

The reality of Yajuj and Majuj is one of the greatest mysteries of the Last Days. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ shared authentic narrations that highlight their terrifying nature, their massive numbers, and the destruction they will unleash before the Day of Judgment.

Who Are Yajuj and Majuj?

According to Hudayfa (RA), the Messenger of Allah ﷺ described them as two enormous Ummahs, each made up of 400,000 smaller groups. None of them dies until he has seen 1,000 armed men from his own lineage. These beings will appear suddenly and overwhelm the earth.

The Three Types of Yajuj and Majuj

Hudayfa (RA) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ described them in three terrifying forms:

  • Giants: As tall as the Arz tree (about 55 meters), unstoppable by mountains or iron.
  • Strange beings: Using one ear as a mattress and the other as a blanket, eating elephants, camels, pigs, and even their own dead.
  • Flood-like swarms: Spread across Sham and Khorasan, drinking rivers dry and completely consuming Lake Tiberius.

Physical Appearance

Ibn Hameleh (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said they have broad faces, small eyes, reddish-brown hair, and skin as tough as shields. They will descend from every valley, flooding the earth with their massive numbers.

Isra and Mi’raj: The Prophecy

During Isra and Mi’raj, the Prophet ﷺ met Ibrahim, Musa, and Isa (peace be upon them). Isa (AS) revealed that after the defeat of the Dajjal, Yajuj and Majuj will descend like a flood, consuming everything in their path until Allah’s divine intervention ends their destruction.

The Reality and Warning

These authentic narrations remind us of the chilling reality of Yajuj and Majuj — two fearsome nations whose emergence will be among the greatest trials for humanity. Their unstoppable strength, terrifying forms, and overwhelming numbers are beyond imagination. Yet, the Qur’an and Hadith emphasize that only Allah’s mercy will save humanity from their devastation.

Tip for Readers: Always verify narrations from authentic Islamic sources and scholars when learning about the signs of the Last Day.

Conclusion

Yajuj and Majuj are not myths — they are a promised reality. As Muslims, our duty is to strengthen faith, seek knowledge, and prepare spiritually for the trials of the Last Days.
